With the high number of seniors relocating to the Grand Strand, the demand for senior living communities is growing quickly. Seniors age 65 and up will make up 36 percent of the Grand Strand’s population by the year 2025. Until recently, options for this type of community were very limited in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area.
Brightwater is the newest senior living community. It is a 58 acre development located in Carolina Forest. Located just off International Drive and River Oaks Drive, Brightwater is very convenient to everything Myrtle Beach has to offer including the beach, golf, shopping, dining, and more.
Brightwater will offer 110 independent living single family homes, 48 assisted living homes, 24 nursing beds, and 24 Alzheimer’s units. Homes will range from $273,000 to $475,000 and apartments will range from $132,000 to $325,000. Amenities will include meals in the clubhouse, activities for residents, housekeeping, and a 24-hour emergency response. There will also be an indoor and outdoor pool, aqua therapy, and a rehabilitation center. Residents will pay one monthly fee for their home and all the services.
In addition to Brightwater a number of other communities geared toward seniors have popped up along the Grand Strand including the Lakes at Litchfield and Eagle Crest in Myrtle Beach.
